An Apple A Day…

Apple just plain rocks. Seriously.

The iTV, MacBookPro and the new iPods are awesome. I want to trade in my old 4th Gen 20 Gigger and get a shiney new iPod. And the changes to the iTMS just rock. Movies, games, videos AND music. I do hate DRM but how I do love Apple.

I <3 Steve Jobs and I don't own a Mac. Ok, I DO own a Mighty Mouse — Don’t buy one unless you own a Mac and you like mice with a cable shorter than HMB’s weave. ** Note to make HMB post later **

But I want to. How shitty is that? I spent a significant amount of time today trying to load OS X onto a VMWare image. I wanted to pull my teeth out. The install went great and after the first boot I received the following message.

b0 error

“‘PC Load Letter?’” I exclaimed. “‘What the fuck is ‘PC Load Letter?’” I hit the forums like a cop after a donut at x86project.org, hunting for the elusive thread that would liberate me from Windows forever — at least for a bit. After some sleuthing I found directions to make my partition active with fdisk. Took care of that and still it wouldn’t boot. I reloaded it (which takes about an hour or so on the lappy) and tried again. This time it errored out so I rebooted and THEN it booted up to the registration. After goofing with that I finally got it to boot into the GUI.

That’s when OS X DoS’d my laptop. My CPU maxed out trying to provide the graphics. I shutdown the image thinking I would come back later and mess with it. I got home, booted it up and:

b0 error

Steve Jobs, it is so hard to love you.
