Bible Translations

by jason on January 11, 2007

There’s been a lot of talk over the years, to this today, about errancy in the Bible as well as which is the best translation to use. Logically one can assume that numerous translations of the Bible detract from it’s accuracy and from the true meaning of the verses.

Mark Driscoll, leader pastor at Mars Hill Church has posted a very good article on just this subject. Check it out; good food for thought. When you read it actually try to absorb the meaning of the passages and the differences between each.

Thanks for the offer. I read KJV and although I agree that it was one of the first English translations, original OT was in Hebrew and the NT in Greek (and I’m not going to learn Greek to understand the Bible). I actually have a KJV, a NKJV and an NIV Bible which makes it nice to see the differences in all of them.
