Over the last two days I’ve spent about 17 hours at the 26 hour NetWar event. I didn’t take part in any of the structured tournaments, I knew I would get pwnd, but I did play in several CounterStrike:Source games, as well as a bout of Supreme Commander and FlatOut 2 carnage.
Travis ran a really great event. He and his team really had to “bring order out of chaos” with all of the tournaments, raffles and server matches, as well as wrangling around 200ish players and spectators who kept throwing kinks into the system. I hope to come back next time after some practice with CS:Source and I plan to “bring it!”
The registration included almost 300 total people. They came from Omaha, Lincoln, Iowa, South Dakota and other surrounding states. Totally awesome.
The Digz hosted the event and provided food and drink. They also had a lot of Bawls. It was a great venue with plenty of room for expansion at the next event, which is TBD.
Good times, now I just have to recover from so much caffeine! Ty, thanks for coming out! It was awesome to kill knife-wielding bots with you!
