I like football (the American kind) and I enjoy watching it. I’m not a zealot, but I do have a favorite NFL team and tend to follow the Denver Bronco’s. That’s pretty much my pro football involvement. The Cornhuskers are my other team — just because I live in Omaha.
At work we’re playing Fantasy Football this year and I opt’ed in, more from a sense of camaraderie then any actual plans at winning. This is good considering I drafted Keyshawn Johnson onto my team. Now, you may think this is okay until you realize that he retired in May.
Two things I’ve learned.
- Don’t plan your FF team DURING the draft
- Kick CBS’ ass for having a retired person on the roster
Research is important, but I wouldn’t have imagined a retired player would be on the eligible list. Come on, seriously.

Wow, that’s lame. I am in a FF league this year, too, and surprisingly enough, I am in first place. At least for now. But that’s only because not only do I have Tom Brady who is bringing in a damn good amount of points per week, but I also have Steven Jackson (though he’s injured now and will be out for a week or more, bah).
Anyway, saw this and thought I would comment. Hope all is well with you. How are the wedding plans coming? Or have you already married?
Your draft went much better than mine! It was ugly.
