My Llama 45

I took my new Llama M1911A1 clone out today to the range with T-Cog. We went to The Bullet Hole, a decent enough place here in Omaha. I have to admit I wasn’t super impressed. The range itself is fine, but it’s hard to sight in a pistol when your target dances around due to crappy air flow like Pinocchio on LSD.
T-Cog (Tracy) is a former tanker in the Army Of One / Army Strong and also a former Combat Arms Instructor. I grew up shooting rifles and shotguns, with the occasional dabble in pistol shooting. Tracy is an awesome guy and was nice enough to group a smiley face with his Smith and Wesson 99 even with the target bouncing around like it was on a bad trip. What can I say, he’s a show-off.
Together we went through his excess nine millimeter ammo and then another 75 rounds or so of .45 caliber ACP. My pistol shoots pretty accurately up to 15-20 yards, just drops an inch or two but it’s consistent and now that I know how it shoots it will just get better.
Tracy and I are going to hit up The Bullet Hole again to take the Concealed Carry class now that Nebraska has a concealed carry law.
To hop on my soapbox for a minute; there are many places you can’t take a weapon if you are licensed to carry, including hospitals, the Post Office, Schools, Banks, or anywhere with a sign posted. My office being one of those.
What the hell is the purpose of that? Statistically it has been proven that cities and states with a concealed carry law have a lower violent crime rate. Posting a sign is not going to stop the violent offender or shooter who goes on a rampage. Instead of having the ability to defend yourself, a constitutional and human right, you are handicapped.
This is NOT to say I want to carry a weapon at the office. There are times and places where I wish I could carry a weapon because of the environment. That and I believe I have the right to carry a weapon. I grew up with them, I’ve handled them my entire life, and I understand their true purpose.
To make everyone feel better, I have a large steel gun safe with multiple locks to hold my firearms. Not only that but I keep the keys on me (or near me) at all times. There will be no cleaning accidents or accidental misfires because I know guns, as do ‘most’ gun owners.
Tracy snapped some pictures on his camera while we were out. Once I get them posted I will upload them here.

Indeed, my friend. I have a pistol that I keep to protect my family, as I am a 26 year old female living with 4 kids alone in the slums of the welfare apartments in Rolla (its all I can afford with no child support). I’ve been seriously contemplating getting my carry permit. There’s not a lot of violent crime here, but enough. But, as you so correctly pointed out, why have the permit if there are so many places you can’t carry?

Crappy air flow huh….That airflow is what is keeping the lead out of your lungs. The ventilation at indoor ranges is regulated by the EPA, I guess you could always complain to them. Next time ask for, or bring you own weight to hang from your target to keep it from moving around. Problem solved.
