Saint Patrick’s Day…the day of drinking green bear while wearing green clothing. It’s upon us. Whatever shall we do?
Well, obviously drink green beer and wear green! Emma and I only did one of those–WEAR GREEN. There was a St Patrick’s Day dance party at the DC Centre tonight and we went to that.
Sara taught Emma how to do some Cha-Cha and Merengue. It was really cute watching Emma dance with her. I couldn’t even get her to dance with me! (Emma that is; Sara is paid to dance with me hehe).
Don’t forget what St Patrick’s Day is really about. St Patrick was captured by Irish raiders when he was sixteen and enslaved for six years. He escaped alone and returned to his family. He then spent many years in the clergy as a deacon and a bishop before returning to Ireland as a Roman Catholic missionary. He then spent the rest of his life in Ireland. He admitted in his letters to being beaten, robbed, and almost executed.
He went as a man of God, with God, to bring Christianity to the country that enslaved him. That takes faith and it takes cajones.
